No new baby goats in the #BabyGoatCountdown, but the 5 I've got are still ridiculously cute. It will be warm enough (FINALLY) to get them outside in the sun later this morning. Their mamas will be VERY happy to be back with the whole herd, they are getting bored.
And there were auroras again for the 2am barn check! Not quite as spectacular as the night before, but still quite good!
(And I see we've reached Starlinks-visible-all-night time of year already at this latitude. Sigh.)
this should be Tourism Saskatchewan's slogan
"Saskatchewan: land of goats and auroras"
I have to say that sitting on a warm pile of hay in the sun underneath a blanket of sleeping baby goats is the absolute best part about farming. #BabyGoatCountdown
Also got some good action shots of meeting the guardian dogs and guardian llama. They all approve of the new herd additions. #BabyGoatCountdown
More babies in the warm sun, and geese migrating over. #BabyGoatCountdown
@sundogplanets Are those the two who were born a couple of days back?
@sundogplanets My birding father says those are likely whooping cranes flying over.
@Chigaze @sundogplanets
Respectfully to your dad...I don't see the legs, that are as long as the neck of a crane, trailing behind, more likely to be snow geese
@NMBA You may be right. They’re a long way off and both are migrating right now.
It is time for the baby goats to test out gently trampling on the livestock guardian dogs #BabyGoatCountdown
@sundogplanets are the goats tiny or the dogs big, or both?
@sundogplanets misread this as "got some good shots of the guardian dog and action llama"
Maybe it's time for me to write that children's book....
