@ceyusa funny that you mention because I did look at https://lwn.net/op/FAQ.lwn#slinks before sharing to make sure that it was OK. But if @LWN @corbet disagree, I'll delete the toot.

The FAQ says:

Where is it appropriate to post a subscriber link?

Almost anywhere. Private mail, messages to project mailing lists, and blog entries are all appropriate. As long as people do not use subscriber links as a way to defeat our attempts to gain subscribers, we are happy to see them shared.

@ceyusa @LWN @corbet IMO sharing these articles is a great way to show the value of lwn.net subscription and get more subscribers :)

@ceyusa @javierm Thanks for the concern... our experience, though, is that the sharing of subscriber links is one of the most effective forms of marketing that we have. (Of course, that may be a low bar since we don't really have anything that might be described as "marketing"). It exposes us to people who aren't normally reading our work, and some of them become subscribers, which is a good thing!
