I don’t know how to explain to people at this point that GEORGE W BUSH IS FROM CONNECTICUT.

He’s not from Texas! The hat and the folksy accent was always a strategy! Being “folksy” is something effete liberals are supposed to find impossible to even imagine.

The GOP has been doing Confederacyface for most of a century. It’s ALWAYS projection.

@Catvalente I remember this from a previous decade. He is from a wealthy New England family, old-school Republican style. Also, he was responsible for linking Southern evangelicals to his father's campaign & the rest is history.
