How dumb or lazy is that this? The Icom IC-705 does not have a GPS-disciplined oscillator (GPSDO). It has a built-in GPS receiver, but it doesn't use that signal to stabilize the radio's internal clock. The GPS receiver is used for location logging, D-PRS (D-STAR position reporting), and other location-related functions.

@HopelessDemigod it's weird given it already has a GPS, also a similar issue famously on the 9700. These are ideal transverter rigs, so it is difficult to understand the thinking at ICOM.
