Calling all dads or electricians of the #fediverse. I'm hanging this lamp, but the wires in the ceiling are too short to reach the lamp's connector. Can I just put another connector in between like I did in the picture?

We did it 🔥💪 Honestly I didn't connect the ground wire, just left it in the ceiling box. Will my house burn down?

@Gina As long as you're not in Germany, yes. Otherwise, the electricians guild will crucify you and it's illegal for you to even connect the lamp. :D

@Gina looks good, and if your lamp does not have a yellow/green cable, simple omit connecting the one that comes out of the ceiling

But next time please also include the protective earth terminal (middle connector, the one with the metal tongue sticking out from the nut connected to the metal casing). And please treat yourself to some proper installation terminals... those with the screws are soooo 1980s....
