For me, the biggest challenge of driving in New Zealand isn't the right-hand drive - it's the combination of narrow lanes and high speeds.
Cruising from Christchurch to Oamaru took me over 3.5 hours of high mental tension. With just one lane each way and no median barriers, having cars fly past at 100km/h is intense. I felt stuck in a dilemma: at 95km/h, people were tailgating me; at 100km/h, I was worried about speed traps. My most frequent move? Checking for passing lanes, hitting the left indicator, and letting everyone zoom past! 😅
