Not sure who needs to know this, but if you want to successfully pair a #SteamFrame with a #SteamMachine using the fancy wireless adapter, you need to opt-in on SteamOS Beta on the steam machine.
This will give you a kernel upgrade (from 6.18 to 7.2) and suddenly things will magically work.

@jmorris They are primarily made for seamless gaming, much like a console. The OS (Arch btw.) is somewhat ephemeral, in that it can be made writable (it's ro by default) but changes will disappear on update. That said, even Valve advertises it being a full PC.
The hw specs are mid-range, for "serious" stuff you'd probably want mor RAM.
It really excels at sitting on the living room desk in a corner and having your favourite game uo and running in seconds.
@jmorris What blew me away with the Frame is that this is _also_ a PC, in that it's quite easy to go to desktop mode and install flatpaks.
@thilo Presuming kernel 7.2 is required for other Linux flavours to have any chance too then?
@endareth Valve thinks so: https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/2668-0B6E-79E0-A85B#os
Runs neatly on SteamOS 3.9 Beta though.
