So here I am in an airline lounge in Munich when suddenly everybody's phone starts simultaneously screaming bloody murder. I'm trying to decrypt the flashing red message in German, wondering if I have time to say goodbye to my family before whatever apocalypse is coming hits. Eventually I find the second version in English... It's national alert test day. I guess I can get another coffee after all.

@corbet Yes, since the first national test day was a huge f'ing disaster with basically no alerts working, they're starting to do it regularly and actually fixing it.

I must say I do approve. (It's widely communicated, but perhaps not to international transit passengers ...)

@corbet Maybe there should have been a warning about the warning :D

@larsmb @corbet The last years I saw so much chatter before, this year I totally missed it and was slightly shocked when the Phone and Watch suddenly started to go crazy.

What I don‘t get is that they don‘t sent out a silent warning a day or two before at least. Wouldn‘t help transit passengers but at least people in the country.
