Yo, folks! Good news! 3.8 SDK is now MIT licensed [1], the license model has been extended to support GPLv3, which will help OBS users [2].

@jwildeboer they are a bit late as most popular daws and best plugins are supporting clap.

i guess that's why they did this :-) vst is somewhat obsolete compared to cool modulation features etc. offered by clap.

@jwildeboer plus everyone loves to hate steinberg (for a good reason) how they've e.g., managed vst2 with an army lawyers.

@jarkko Yep, many years too late. But still. It's good news. Being able to integrate VST without barriers is better than the limbo situation we had for so many years.

@jarkko It's a weird day today. Every post I made immediate gets a "yes, but" negative reply at the very top. I get it, people love to complain, but today is especially weird. Almost makes me NOT post good news.
