Probably some RISC-V stuff, but hopefully other things too ;)

@matt @lproven I want more people to read this article. It's really important that the people who are taking steps to improve accessibility are actually thanked for their work. If not in donations, which would help, but even a simple "hey. Thanks for fixing that. I noticed" goes a long way towards making a contribution feel worth it.

@pleia2 @keithp oh, so that kind of makes the free tier useless...

@pleia2 @keithp IIRC the Slack connections was the big one for me. Combining that with the BNC functionality makes Slack actually usable.

@keithp @pleia2 kind of cheating, but I just pay IRCCloud to do it for me ;)

Announcing: https://justaqrcode.com.

Tired of "free" QR code generators that are full of ads and trackers, that share your data, and that want to sell you something? Me too. Here's my act of resistance: I made a one-page site that works entirely in your browser to generate a simple QR code. And that's all it does. You can download the HTML page and run it locally, even. Read the source; nothing up my sleeves. Just a QR code.

My offer to you -- I will continue to pay for the domain name and web hosting for it, myself. If you find it valuable, you can pay it back by creating your own useful thing for the world and releasing it for free. Let's take back the friendly web, one vexingly-monetized utility at a time!

It begins with Apple. Other services will be next. That's why we must take a stand NOW!

Building a Debugger is now officially released!

It guides you through writing a whole native x64 debugger from scratch, dispelling all the magic and teaching you a ton about operating systems as it goes.

Even if you don't care about writing a debugger, you can read it to your cat.

Internet Archive is looking for engineering managers with a rare set of experiences, and we could use your help.

Do you know someone with extensive experience using PHP as a systems language? Someone who has gardened a petabyte-scale system under high load? Is this person a player/coach engineering manager who enjoys helping other people succeed?

If you do know someone like this, or someone close, I would love to talk to them.

Apply at this link and drop me a line:

@axboe @dagmcr ya, I was principled for a long time but I'm sort of just tired these days...

That said, it's so bad it doesn't even matter ;)

Tinker, compile, innovate & own your silicon future. Some groups prefer closed software, not @tenstorrent!
If you own a PC with a @tenstorrent Blackhole P100/P150 card, you can try this today in under 5 minutes. No extra hardware needed.
