Looks like account aliases and migration were implemented in the upcoming pleroma-2.5 release.

So, unfortunately if you're moving from Mastodon, there is no easy street to take here (yet).

Or, actually, I may be wrong. It looks like pleroma-2.4 supports this on the API backend, but there is no support for setting the alias in the frontend UI. Well, that's a bit annoying. 🤨
