Google's IMAP has been increasingly unusable for me in the past couple of weeks. Anyone else having the same problem?

@monsieuricon I have seen time outs randomly every day for the past month in Apple Mail on the GMail IMAP connection on multiple accounts.

@monsieuricon Over ipv6, yeah, but I've just been assuming it's Spectrum being stupid somewhere along the line rather than Google.

@monsieuricon I haven't experienced this, and I use it with Mutt and K9Mail daily.

@minoru It could be my situation because I use mbsync and so I have more connections than clients that just establish a single connection and use imap IDLE.

@monsieuricon I noticed it was very slow last week, but has improved the last couple of days for me.

@monsieuricon stop using gmail. It's hostile towards its users.

@icon_of_computational_sin if it's hostile, then in the same way the universe is hostile to the humans -- too large to care about some tiny subset of IMAP users on some tiny rock around a mediocre star.

@monsieuricon unlike your example with the universe, you can relatively easily migrate away from gmail. I did just that and couldn't be happier.

@icon_of_computational_sin I use Migadu for my personal email as well. Doesn't mean I get to easily choose in other situations.

@monsieuricon I pull with pop3, imap in gmail has always sucked.
