picked up a Fossil Gen 6 at their last minute flash sale. A brand new wearOS 3 capable smart watch from 2021 for a 70% discount seems like a good enough deal.

although the real reason i got it is because it's supported by AsteroidOS - and consequently should be fairly straightforward to get mainline booting heh

@cas Some day I'd like to play with Linux-based smartwatch, but for now I'm very happy with Espruino-based Bangle.js 2. Also open source, and not having Linux has advantages for size and battery life.

@cas have you used AsteroidOS before? I still use a pebble, because I can make it vibrate on the hour, and my fossil on stock whatever it is can't do that. I was wondering if such a thing is possible in AsteroidOS?

@cas look good, support matrix isn't impressive so far, but can be improved later. Now figuring out how to workaround not Fossil not shipping to Czechia... @ondrejkolin :D

@okias @cas that shouldn't be a big problem. 🤷

PM me on matrix. 🤷

@ondrejkolin @cas I'll need some time until the ships reach the broadcast depth so I can connect.
