My first computer monitor had:
19% A clip-on polarized glass screen to catch "bad electrons"
4% A cactus on top of it to soak up "bad radiation"
5% A doily
9% All of the above
61% Sorry, I didn't grow up in Eastern Europe, so I have no idea what this poll is about

@monsieuricon I sometimes had to polarize the monitor. Does that count?

@Ertain I think you are referring to "degaussing," which is actually a valid thing to do to a CRT monitor if it starts getting weird rainbowy streaks on it.

@dartov not bad! My first monitor was an old 70's black-and-white TV to which we connected the BK0010. :) It had a doily for sure, just like any other surface that wasn't a floor or a wall (that's for carpets).

@monsieuricon That does remind me of a trade union push in 80s (??) Australia that visual display units should not emit any electro-magnetic radiation. At all. Caused much hilarity at the time! (How apocryphal this was I don't know, but I was there at the time and there were no internet memes...)
