Ridiculous.

The UK's employment laws are already MASSIVELY weighted towards the employer. People in the UK make a bunch of assumptions about their rights that are simply totally untrue.

Taking away the ability to be signed off work because you're genuinely very unwell and putting that in the hands of some bureaucrat is frankly appalling.

Luckily it's moot, as the tories don't stand a chance at the next election.

@ljs he talks about access to treatment and services... I want to tell "What fucking services Rishi?"

@ljs Don't bet on that. Labour have *plenty* of time to implode, and historically they've been very, very good at it.

@dickon I actually consider myself centre-right, but even I can't stand this lot in power now.

Labour would have to properly implode to lose out here (+ implode more than the tories). And sadly, despite not agreeing with many of their positions, I do think they're probably generally the best choice atm.

Neither Keir nor Rishi are charismatic it's battle of the dullards

@ljs After the last eight years of Tory psychodrama, dull is what I want. I crave dull politics. I just want things to work again.

@ohjames yes of course :) odd how those in positions of power and authority are mysteriously the ones treated as the victims, and those without power and authority are treated as the perpetrators... 🧐
