@ljs, pro tip: buy a four-day Interrail, book a trip from Penzance to Edinburgh to London to Paris and back and skip the London to Paris leg. Or not 😄 It's massively cheaper!

@lkundrak @oleksandr @ptesarik no it involves constant delays, probably having to stand for part of the journey, broken down trains, cancellations, train staff being insanely rude to you and generally a terrible experience.
Would cost less than half in petrol btw for the round trip :)

@ljs @oleksandr @ptesarik @lkundrak (perhaps worth mentioning that some individuals who have extensive previous experience with Czech Railways, find UK railways quite a bit better than what Lorenzo here describes; probably not better enough to justify the price difference, but ignoring price, the service is usually better)

@liskin @oleksandr @ptesarik @lkundrak tbh from hearing Czechs moan on here it's probably comparatively better, but it's probably not the 10x price difference better.
People miss that this is one of the fundamental issues with the UK rail system. It's literally pretty much always cheaper to drive except to e.g. London where congestion charge/insane parking costs/etc. change the equation.
Anywhere else, cheaper to drive, usually by 2x for just 1 person. If you take more than 1 it gets very silly...

@liskin @oleksandr @ptesarik @lkundrak @ljs may be worth pointing out the proposed route is in distance more similar to doing something like going from Cesky Krumlov to Copenhagen or Malmo which may not be that expensive, but it may also not really be that doable unless you are really adventurous
