So, my work laptop charging controller died. Since this is Thinkpad 14s, the charging controller is also combined with the Thunderbolt controller, which died too. I've got X1 as a temporary replacement, and my T14s will go to the service to get the mainboard replacement. I wonder how sustainable this is to replace everything if a small component breaks, but what do I know about the modern economy.

@oleksandr i think if that's a component that fails often your replacement board might be just a refurbished one from someone else and they might eventually repair yours and fix someone else's laptop with it. i think at least apple seems to be doing that?
