Try xscreensaver, looks cool.

Go to gym, come back, fans blasting at 100% system locked.

Untry xscreensaver.

xscreensaver is extremely mature code, it's not like you should expect it to do that. Driver issue perhaps.

"Before anyone asks I'm using X because of nvidia hw"

What, are you apologizing for using X11? You should apologize for using Wayland.

And no one's going to think you're a cool cat hipster for advocating for systemd.

@dougmerritt @pony Not apologising just to pre-respond to comments on that.

It is more sensible to use wayland despite it breaking some things given it's actively maintained and not utterly insane legacy code.

Nvidia is gradually getting there on that...

Yeah I"m pretty convinced it's a driver issue or my use of one of the fucked generation of intel chips (14900)

@djasa @ljs @pony
"Why?"

You should be further harassing him, not questioning why someone else is harassing him.

However I do have a pet peeve with Wayland from the start (which might have become obsolete without my noticing; that does happen sometimes):

X11 was always networked. Wayland was not, and as far as I can tell, they never intended to add back that core feature.
