@cas I managed to block all of the shorts with some experimenting, using this firefox addon

@cas @janvhs That's why I switched to pulling my subscriptions into RSS feed and drag-dropping them into mpv+yt-dlp with quality-script.

No ads, no algorithm to exploit my attention, hardware decoding (working well even on old/slow systems like Pentium 4!), no toxic garbage (aka YouTube comment section).

@cas youtube -- let me know when you find a good one. I'm using custom scripting over youtube-dl and mpv, and would like better solution.

@cas newsboat for yt subs, and it's pretty easy to wire it up to yt-dlp + mpv or something
