@ljs @oleksandr @liskin did you get that amazing story how we were driving to krpole with liskin half drunk and with kebab in one hand, while being stopped by a policeman who got very concerned about me not having seat-belt and then i acted so stupid he got completely flabbergasted and just let us go to not have to deal with me anymore

@pony @oleksandr @ljs as far as I remember that story did actually involve a breathalyzer and the result was 0 so either the breathalyzer vendor screwed the policemen over or the young wine vendor screwed us over or something

@ljs @oleksandr @pony Yeah I don't disagree. And yeah I've taken a good look at my priorities (I want my beer) and switched to a mode of transport that's more likely to kill me than anyone else, a long time ago.
Still, I wish we admitted there's some nuance, and it's not as simple as "drunk driving is the worst thing you can do ever". Like, if you're literally not looking out the windshield, because you're staring at a phone screen, your reaction time is quite a bit worse than that of a professional driver who just had 2 pints.
And, actually, an inexperienced driver who's had little sleep will be even worse. Yet somehow nobody tells them that they're a terrible person who'll go to hell.

@ljs @oleksandr @pony I mean I'm not saying drunk driving should be tolerated. Nope, I'm just sad there's all these other things that cause traffic deaths and are somehow tolerated. So yeah these days I'd tend to just assume that all driving makes you a terrible person and it's on you to convince me otherwise.

@liskin @oleksandr @ljs i mean cz driving culture is pure cancer, i keep getting mad at my bossbro who constantly says how "good driver" he is, except upon any further inspection of the claim, it turns out he is just a selfish driver and all his metrics are based upon how much he feels good about himself; "yeah, i drive 100 at 90 limit and it's actually those who keep under the limit because they are not that confident who are causing the accidents, slowing down the uberdrivers like me"
