There is a fun with and also when ancient technology () meet modern needs. Also great reusability of Linux tools helps a lot. About 5 minutes of fun and here is very hackish PDF viewer for terminal emulator with sixel support, thanks to and , the rest is just wrapping 46 lines of Linux shell.

@janantos with math software it is game changer. Can show plots in terminal.

@jarkko yep, however years ago I made picture viewer without sixel, I have horribly misused Unicode Braille characters for it. And yes I am occasionally plotting in terminal using gnuplots sixelgd. However sixel support was one of the reasons why I abandoned Kitty terminal emulator in favour of foot.
