@pmOS_devices PostmarketOS is very cool. I have contributed myself a bit. However I think that maybe getting a few devices with really good support working would be a better strategy for mainstream adoption than getting a lot of devices to boot. But maybe that isn't the goal of the project.

@katzenmann @pmOS_devices this would potentially make sense if postmarketOS were a centrally organised project. but literally all device support work is done on a volunteer basis, and people generally want to work on the devices they have or like, not what someone else says they should be working on. it simply doesnt scale like this

@cas @pmOS_devices yeah I know. For people to work on the things that matter, but nobody wants to do there's gotta be money involved. Hopefully we will get to the stage where more companies start sponsoring work in the Linux Mobile space.

@katzenmann @pmOS_devices would be nice.... until then nothing stops folks from organising themselves to do hardware bringup asahi-style.

@cas @katzenmann @pmOS_devices If your goal is to get great-supported device, people are working on that, too. Librem 5, PinePhone, OnePlus 6... You can support Purism by buying device from them, for example.
