That said, I still don't get why DMA patch set not reject as per no caller policy (could be that I TLDR'd the thread), i.e. "please come back, once you have a caller, thank you".

@jarkko I'm not a kernel developer but I stayed in a Holiday Inn once (and read LWN) but I thought the Rust DMA wrapper was extracted/consolidated from existing drivers where it had been effectively duplicated, so this argument might be technically true but not practically so. I don't think there has been a technical argument articulated against the dma code, its pretty short, the one maintainer is just being a knob about it for personal reasons. I guess I'm expecting it to be merged and life to move on.

@raven667 OK so I totally misread part what you said (I have dyslexia).

Is there a driver in kernel tree that I can test with it? That obviously changes the picture.
