The Gravis Ultrasound ACE. Original GF1 without any bells and whistles.

@root42 Please be the retro YouTuber who makes a review of it from the demoscene and music creation perspective, where it really shined, instead of the usual "how is this card legendary, this is a disappointment because the Windows drivers and game drivers suck". 😅 All of us GUS fans know that part, and no one cared, even back then, honestly.
@root42 BTW, I know it's oddly specific, but if you want to see what it could have been, try OS/2 with it, and the so-called "Manley Drivers". A 3rd party driver pack by Robert J. Manley. Those work wonders, and they show what the support could have been, if the driver team at Gravis and partners were just a bit more competent...
(Also, no prizes for guessing what OS I used back then...)
@chainq I used Warp 3 back in the day for a while. Superb OS if you wanted to run DOS and Win3.1 apps STABLE. Sadly it didn’t get the support it deserved. A little later I switched to Linux with a bit of Win95/98/2000 on the side. After that Linux only until 2011 when I went macOS.
@root42 Surely the point of a sound card *is* the bells and whistles?
