Good morning! โ
(Update: This is not a blasphemy mod. It was a product sold by SiliconGraphics in Germany. There is even a spec sheet for the Espressigo. Ask google if you don't believe me)
@flexion I wonder how many of them are still around and in working condition
@flexion this one is so curious about the internals of this thing and the espresso it makes
@soweliniko @flexion The switches and layout of the controls look exactly like a Gaggia Classic so I expect it was made from one of them - sorry couldnโt find a very good pic of the older model online.
@KitsuneVixi @flexion Hide a Raspberry Pi 5 in it and run IRIX under qemu on Linux using it? Then you can indeed run Doom on your coffee maker!
@cstross @KitsuneVixi @flexion last time I looked QEMU wasn't up to the task. Alas.
and again, for the people who falsely accuse me of modding an SGI Indigo. I did not! The Espressigo was an actual product, sold by SGI in Germany. Here's the spec sheet: (see alt text for EN translation)
@flexion I wouldn't trust an espresso machine that wasn't quality approved by Italians. Just saying.
@Illuminatus There's an italian Gaggia inside โ ๐ฎ๐น
@flexion AFAIK it was a limited "giveway" to customers who actually bought SGI hardware ...
@Wintermute_BBS Yes, primarily a giveaway for large customers, but you could also buy one.. although not cheap
@flexion that's just insanely genius ๐
I'm just sad they didn't make pizza boxes out of the Indy ๐๐๐
@scalonnec you can carry your pizza in the "Indy Case" made by SGI ๐ but the toppings could slip off ๐
