Does anyone have any experience with Bangle.js? "Hackable Smartwatch"?

How is it, customizability-wise, and privacy-wise?

@Moosader i wrote a bunchf of apps for it 2 years ago, from my pov:

Pros:
- its very fun and fast
- battery life is great (up to 2 month)
- you can tweak everything from js
- firmware is fully opensrc and hackable in C

Bads:
- no wifi, bt link is unrealiable
- 1 button only, which breaks after 2 years use
- not water friendly
- no speaker/microphone

Imho a better hw could make bangle the best smartwatch.. but i guess that’s too much workload or not a prio for espruino.

@pancake @Moosader I don't believe Espruino is making the hardware. They are flashing existing hw from china or something like that. Espruino is software project.

@Moosader I'd recommend Bangle.js2. (I don't believe you can get Bangle.js easily) For privacy, you may want to turn bluetooth off. But it is good, open-source thingie. I like light hardware, sunlight-readable display, and the software. If I got another smartwatch, I'd put Espruino there.

@pavel not clear to me who's behind the manufacturing, but it would be great if bangle3 comes out one day

@pancake I would not mind Bangle.js3 with beeper. But I believe software stack is important, and we'll have nice small smartwatch in future if we can keep maintaining the software.
