Hello, music oriented Fediverse, I would enjoy blues and jazz recommendations! Due to things I'd need it to be available for listening & purchase on Bandcamp, and I'd really love a female vocalist - bonus points for gay content and artists of colour! heart_rainbow

Elements of blues in weird fusion genres etc. also acceptable, I really like when I can go: "Wait. Is that a fucking *harpsichord* in my downtempo blues/swing ballad ...That's amazing!"

In any case, if you'd like to slap me with the Bandcamp link to your favourite song or album from some artist, I'd really quite like that!

@antti Ooh, the sound is very pleasing to me. I've put an album playing to try it out. At an aural glance I'd say this is definitely my exact jam in general!

Edit: I am for sure buying at least a couple of songs, I think. (Gosh the HORNS.) Maybe entire albums, will have to peruse them first.

@sinituulia good to hear! she is one of my contemporary jazz favourites. not sure if kamasi washington and sons of kemet are on bandcamp but if they are you might want to try the epic and black to the future

@sinituulia
How about some swing classics from a contemporary band with a female vocalist who is also a swing dancer? :)

@toke Mmm, swing classics. blob_melt_sob_love

Also: "Naomi Uyama was an international swing dance champion searching for the perfect band - original but authentic - in the pocket but bringing the party. After searching the world over she took it upon herself to form "Naomi & Her Handsome Devils" from her favorite musicians in New Orleans, NYC, Seattle, and Chicago."
A good example of getting sick of it and just doing it yourself!

@sinituulia
Haha, yup! Sometimes you gotta do things yourself if you want them done right 😃
