Peeked outside, and I think it's safe to say the street isn't shiny because it's rain. Thick ice on the power lines with icicles on them.
I can't see the trees anymore, but I have a feeling we might have some *scenes* tomorrow.

I just don't want the neighbours tree to fall on our house. Thanks.

I can handle snow storms, cold temps, rain, wind, etc - but freezing rain always puts the shits up me because not only does it sound made up, it's the one weather system here that does the worst damage.

I've never seen it happen in the UK at all. The first time someone mentioned it in Canada, I thought they were talking about hail.

@Teaceratops it's true, this is a very North American thing, because of how warm currents, polar vortexes, and prairie winds all interact together.

@monsieuricon I find it wild I had never even heard about it until I moved here!

It's beautiful to look at, but I'm also looking at my neighbours tree and how bowed it is compared to normal, and you can see the enormous stress the ice puts on everything.
