I could not finish "Project Hail Mary." The part where "humanity joined forces under the leadership of UN" first made me laugh out loud and then just made me angry.

Well, it's (medium) *hard science* fiction, not *social science* fiction 🤣

To me, it's a really good book that mostly aligns with physics (taking some liberties with engineering assumptions, as usual), but brings a good story with a lot of optimism into the mix. The audiobook narrated by Ray Porter is *great* in its nuanced voice, and has a number of actual LOL moments. Haven't seen the movie yet, though. Going by the movie version of The Martian, I'll probably be disappointed.
