@hrw What kind of device? I'd say armv7 is still good choice for smartwatch, for example.

@hrw I'm not sure how complex logic is needed in 3d printer. I suspect esp32 would be fine. I'd say arm32 is more than fine.

I believe we should limit CPU complexity where possible; speculative CPUs are scary.

@pavel it depends. As always.

If you want to go old way then you only need usb port or sd slot, some screen and whatever MCU to load file and steer all engines.

If you want to have wifi, camera streaming, more complex monitoring software then some more cpu power is needed.

Arm32 is enough, sure. But should not be used in new designs for quite a while.
