You know what doesn’t get shut down when heatwaves and droughts dry up the rivers?

Wind and solar.

Climate change is exposing a weakness in nuclear power.

Lack of water in the Danube has closed two reactors in Romania and one in Hungary. Similar problems have shut three in France. At least eight others in Europe are having to operate on reduced power.

@nickofnz I think the fossil fuel lobby has too much support and tie-ins with the military all over the world for this to ever stop.

They’ll fight wars over oil long time after it’s not even needed any more. 🤔

@nickofnz Solar gets shut down every night and in large parts most winters. Nuclear needs draught-compatible cooling, which is possible if taken into account

@nickofnz You know what is needed for each Watt of solar / wind? Well, one Watt of on-demand sources. And nuclear is better than coal or gas, right?
