Controversial take but as Flatpak completely bans AI assisted code, it will put people in inequal position:
- Some simply won’t announce how they produce code; whether they use AI or not. This will inevitably result a corrupted user community.
- Proprietary applications will get a free pass; no questions asked.
- Flatpak relies on multiple software packages such as Linux kernel and SystemD that are influenced by AI. It is hypocritical to ask others for what you are not prepared to do yourself.
I’m not claiming that defining AI metrics would be easy define but objectively this at least won’t play out well.

- Those who have no skills, and ask AI to do everything for them.
- Those who have incomplete skills, and use AI to shorten the gap between junior and senior dev.
- Those who have all the programming skills.
I feel like this no AI debate is from the last group directed at the first group.

@andrew Yeah could be. I specifically don't want to take a position. I'm only trying to show evidence that there is a problem that is multi-faceted and would require more in-depth consideration.
