This is a program of which I made first version with Python in 2011 but since it has been rewritten with C++:

bunx @jarkkojs/phindex --help
Usage: phindex [options] <source>... <dest>
       phindex --discover
  -h, --help             Show this help message
  -V, --version          Show the program version
      --discover         List available source URIs
  -L, --dereference      Follow symbolic links into directories
  -n, --dry-run          Show what would be copied; do not write
  -r, --recursive        Recurse into source subdirectories
  -v, --verbose          Print copied paths and skip reasons

phindex copies photos from various sources and normalizes their naming convention and copies them to the destination directory.

To get a list of iOS device URIs, which can be used as source directories, and archive photos the destination directory:

bunx @jarkkojs/phindex --discover
bunx @jarkkojs/phindex --recursive ios://<path> <destination>

It does the job for me, or has done so far…
