are DSLR cameras a dying breed? everything seems to revolve around mirrorless these days and I don't know why
@pavel
I get that they are lighter, but cheaper?
Comparing the 5D Mk IV, Canon's flagship full-frame DSLR, with the R5, its mirrorless counterpart, it's 2,600€ vs 3,300€. Considering the second-hand market, you can get the 5D Mk IV for under 1,000€, while the R5 starts around 2,000€. Prices seem to be that way across brands. Also, DSLR lenses are (fortunately) getting cheaper due to the trend towards mirrorless.
I assume this will change over the decade, but right now, mirrorless is expensive
