Fucking Lenovo laptop died again, with no charging and no Thunderbolt working. But this time it's my personal one (or, rather, my wife's one, and this makes things much worse), and I'm inquiring Lenovo service on how expensive the MB replacement may be. Regardless of the price, I think it may not be the best thing to repair this piece of shit at all and just buy Framework/Tuxedo/System 76/Starlabs/Purism/whatever_else instead (if new) or some older Thinkpad without faulty combined charging+TB controller even installed.

Good I have got T460s (model with no TB) laying around, and swapping the SSD just works, so my ass is saved for the time being.

@ljs I've hit this issue on 2 out of 2 laptops I used. Chances are you'll hit it too, sooner or later.

@avuton While I'm perfectly happy with my fully-fledged desktop PC, my wife needs something that is easy to carry in a backpack.

(thinking aloud) While Framework doesn't ship to Czech Republic, Tuxedo seems to have free shipping, and it's from EU. With System 76/Purism I'll have extra import taxes it seems. Starlabs look underpowered a bit. So, Tuxedo maybe?
