So uhhh has anyone figured out a good solution for the Fediverse Chick spam problem yet? I'm *this* close to hacking in a terrible filter on incoming messages that rejects everything starting with "Hi, I'm Nicole! ..."

@aphyr i haven't seen that spam yet, and it's probably because we're blocking anything from accounts they are only a few days old.

@monsieuricon @aphyr the bot uses open registration instances, has this weird inactive period of 5-6 days and then dms users. i have been wanting to capture it on an instance and view the reverse proxy logs (seeing what endpoints it hits) so i could understand the behavior better.

@aphyr @neil honest question: how many are you getting for it to be worth considering this? I’ve only had 3 or 4 since it started and see it as a kinda cute fediverse in-joke, but I can understand it being less cute if it’s every hour.

@puppygirlhornypost2 @aphyr Just checked, looks like our policy is to reject anything from accounts registered less than 1 day ago. I'm not sure if that's the reason I've never encountered the fediverse chick, or if I'm just exceedingly lucky (or both).
