@me Everything else aside, a military campaign won’t go far if the soldiers and equipment vendors can’t count on getting paid. A modern day army won’t get far if the economy is in shambles.
@pavel @me In Russia military supplies is basically the only part of the industry that’s not in shambles, if you work there you get paid really well (comparatively, not by EU standards). But you’re right, it’s possible to keep that going while the rest is breaking down. Might hurt efficiency and reduce the achievable military power, but still…
On the other hand, if Trump tries to stiff soldiers and suppliers (like he did with workers and suppliers in his businesses), that’s not going to work.
