Thinking about checking , which phone is best value/price? Or maybe what is cheapest phone to test it in EU?

@ronny I have a OnePlus 6, bought it for ~€100 three years ago. It could be even cheaper now. But I haven't been able to make the MeshCore client run on it yet. 😉

@ronny the thing is that it only works in Chromium and desktop Chromium is terrible on small screen. Of course, there are ways. You can install Waydroid and then MeshCore for Android.

@ronny Get OnePlus 6 :-). Postmarketos runs on nearly anything, including qemu, I guess that's cheapest, and probably N900 and such stuff you can likely get for free. But ... go with OnePlus 6, PinePhone or Librem 5.

@ronny Yep, 6T should work, too. To set your expectations: Getting good photos may be a bit of research project, and reliable voice calls may still be a challenge.

@ronny no, you can easily unlock the bootloader and install basically any distribution you want because all drivers are mainlined. I ended up with PostmarketOS because they have ready-to-use images.
