Riding horses, hacking computers, phones and smartwatch.
Does anyone else use CutiePi here? Its a tablet with rpi 4 cm inside. I'd like to get it to work completely; hdmi out and suspend would be useful. Currently, it is running Ubuntu, but software runs something to be desired. Is there something I should try? Best Debian based?

@sesivany @erAck Technically, you are right. But deGoogled Android can't run Google play, so is pretty much useless.

@airtower @aren You are doing too good job for people to want to help :-). You'll get testing/review when you have something working, but for now, it is likely you vs. crazy vendor code.

@kees Yep, that broke my build. Did #define strlcpy strscpy and now it works again! :-). @airtower That's the staging #rtw8723cs , so I guess the semantic difference won't matter much. (/me Ducks and runs).

Got 6.8-rc0 to boot on pinephone. Good. Got to disable v4l and usb power delivery to get there. Not so good.

@aren @airtower Nice :-). Front camera driver should be upstream in 6.8-rc1, but will need testing and dts parts to activate.

@aren @airtower Yep, that would be very cool :-). Hopefully we'll have useful phone with fully open kernel one day.

@aeva tic80.com is fantasy gaming console, and AFAICT many games are open/free. I liked this one , for example: https://tic80.com/play?cart=3635

Got 6.7 to work on pinephone. Now libcamera does 15fps instead of 8. Good.

@papiris Camera is fun. Megapixels solves stills, Millipixels can do very short video. You need PinePhone or Librem 5, and there's still ton of work to do.

@papiris Yep, the Alarm thing (starts ringing when you wake the phone up two hours too late) is fun. There's an Wake Mobile (?, don't have it installed now) application that can schedule the RTC wakeup, its on Mobian, and does not have this problem.

@agx Thank you, gnome-session-inhibit does the trick. ... once user is logged in on the console. One day we'll need an API to do that regardless of desktop environment.

@airtower I see you are basing your code on pmos-6.7 tree. Is there 6.8-rc0 based tree for pinephone somewhere?

@airtower I'd say stick to it. Or try our new Rust layer, I'm sure declarations in the middle of code are welcome there :-).

@airtower Tradition. At the time CodingStyle was written, compilers would not allow them elsewhere. Some parts of kernel even sort variable declarations by size.

@gerrymcgovern They say ChatGPT query is equivalent of 5W bulb for 26 hours. Wow. That's really easy imagine :-). 130Wh would be better. 470kJ would be better, too. That's about quarter of an yoghurt, if I compute correctly.
