As usual the UK continues to be fucking stupid.

Why can I get a flu jab but not a covid jab? What happened to treating it the same as the flu?

@ljs does the last sentence mean you can't even pay for it yourself?

Around here, the new vaccines are available already. The system is an usual mess, but seems to be ramping up. I got vaccinated last week already after two unsuccessful attempts.

@lkundrak yeah you can't pay for it yourself, in the uk unless you're in the vulnerable groups you're literally banned from covid vaccines, it's insane

@hyeyoo @ljs Indeed, take care. I've heard that neglecting acute COVID increases the risk of developing long COVID (which is definitely no fun).

@ptesarik @hyeyoo unfortunately in the uk there's no way not to neglect it.

All I would like is the govt to allow private sales of the vax, it's not like there's overwhelming demand or that'd cause shortages for vulnerable patients
