@kernellogger finally official powervr support in the kernel. Too bad it doesn't cover older architectures. I have at least 2 devices that I can't do anything useful with because they have an older powervr gpu. :(

FWIW, someone asked on the list if there are any plans to add support for some of the older chips as well, but as of now got no reply:

That should lead the way to in-kernel support for apple hardware since it's all pretty much powerVR ;)
