when you plug an USB flash drive
you need to run mkdev hd
answer a few simple questions
such as the device number
LUN
just say zero if your flash stick has only one unit
regerate some device table
relink the kernel
repopulate /stand
one quick* reboot
and voila

* if you enabled automatic booting

@lkundrak Despite being very basic, you are using a GUI to build a kernel? Following your own philosophy, you should be doing it using a teletype to send commands in Morse, but I guess that what you request to others doesn't apply to yourself, right?

@lkundrak That's tradition, SGI Irix did similar stuff. I do that on my Linuxes, too....
