my new favourite anti-pattern is how the shorts section on the youtube homepage constantly changes xpath so you can't easily write ublock origin rules for it, but they give you an "X" so you can close it, aaaaand next time you visit the site it's back.

it's like those crappy 2010's horror movies about social media and websites being creepy, but it's real.

@cas "youtube-dl" is right way to deal with youtube :-). And yes, if there are good youtube frontends other than that (I have my own scripting to preload selected channels), I'd like to know...

@vbabka @cas Thanks, I did not know about this project. I would be afraid that Google will try to kill popular instances...? Anyway, I'd like something running locally on the desktop even more (that will be harder for Google to interfere with).

@cas the aria attributes and :has-text (iirc) should allow you to make a stable query
