My biggest wtf about pilots is how they ever understand people on the radio.

Literally every time I hear aero radio chats I find it near-impossible to make out wtf they're saying

Not a pilot, but I guess pilot messages are relatively domain specific, so could have lower entropy than general language, which can help as the brain can map the noisy comms to far fewer possible sentences

@bencardoen yeah that makes sense, but you have to make out things like frequencies, and like the waypoint names and that and so you have also have to make things out.

But I guess again you adapt with experience.

I'd be panicking hearing 'golf hotel fiver nine heavy, ascend to flight level 270 abeam papa delta echo'

probably reply 'screech! SCREECH!' and brachiate like the not so great ape I am

@ljs @lkundrak i loved that scene the last year or so when they had to show a us drone that they are true kings of the sky and proceeded to dangerously push it out of the sky nearly crashing own planes
