AI will definitely take over the world and there'll be a revolution etc. but for some reason:

1. Rain sensor on my car doesn't work effectively at all
2. Speed sign detection on my car is at best 70% accurate, sometimes hilariously inaccurate
3. Downloading shit off steam fucking nukes the internet for everything else
4. Search results on any search engine are dogshit half the time
5. Speech recognition while impressive these days is still very easily WILDLY wrong
6. etc. etc. etc.

It's like interviewing - if people claim to be able to do world-changing things check that they can do basic things first.

I mean what, are companies just choosing not to use this 'awesome power' that will fix simple stuff like this in heartbeat like for a laugh or something?

Or might it be that there's a little tiny bit of exaggeration going on...

We live in a time where people prefer to believe fantasies even when the truth is plain as day in front of them

'programmers are defunct now and anybody can do it and we are simply choosing to fuck up basic stuff for a giggle'

I remember a certain company with a bird in the logo who thought firing nearly all their programmers would work out, and weirdly they seem to have a buggy mess that they can't modify in any meaningful way just throw on skins and hack shit up, weird eh?

I wonder why... πŸ€”

@oleksandr @ljs that wouldn't be very energy efficient routering

@vbabka @ljs It can serve as a multipurpose device for routing, heating, frying eggs.

@vbabka @oleksandr how dare you sully fish's good name.

It is surprisingly stable and very surprisingly quiet, I got a soundproof (DEFINITELY NOT OVERHEATING) case and fans and it is on most of the time.

And running mm-unstable tip, updated today...

No MCEs...

And I've run all kinds of my own bullshit on there

Later I'll hammer some stuff with stress-ng

Hail him.
