@furilabs nice, nice, so is just like or , , , ... yeah, it's a marketing post ;)
But (for me much more important) are you planning a second phone with for example a or at least a SoC? Or do you just planning to use Smartphones as your base platform?

@scops @furilabs It's like SailfishOS yes, but I wouldn't say it's like PureOS, Mobian or postmarketOS. Those distros aim to use the mainline kernel only and no proprietary Android drivers, while FuriOS and SailfishOS use Android kernels and a tool called Halium to use proprietary Android drivers. Different approaches to get hardware functionality and a fundamental different way of thinking about the problem.

@scops @furilabs FuriOS is like SailfishOS. Not a mainline kernel, unlikely to be long-term maintained. PureOS and Mobian are different. PostmarketOS can do both.

@pavel Devices with SailfishOS are supported long-term. Or about 7 years is not enough?

@kuba77 First, SailfishOS is non-free. Could get Nokia 6230 and would get nicer device :-). Second, no, 7 years is not enough. Nokia N900 should still be supported, and Motorola Droid 4 is still useful. PinePhone is 5 years...

@pavel SailfishOS is not fully OSS but it is free. It is used on many community supported devices for free. I use it 6 years on Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus and before that about 3 years on Nexus 4.

@kuba77 SailfishOS is not OSS. Android is closer to OSS than SailfishOS. I don't care about Android, and neither should you. Same goes for SailfishOS.

@kuba77 And no, I don't believe Furi Labs do a good service to Linux community. Marketing Linux device that can't run mainline kernel is just not cool.
