@kernellogger @vbabka Don't. We'd want open-hardware machines running Linux. It is feasible to put 486sx into FPGA, but not Opteron. Plus, Thinkpad x60 is best notebook ever, so it needs to stay supported.

If that wasn't clear: I don't want the 32-bit x86 support to be removed at all. I'm pretty sure it will stay around for a long time[1], just like parisc support is still in the kernel.

[1] albeit I wonder if arch/x86/ will be split into two at some point again in the future.
