@ljs @lkundrak That very helicopter often flies to Veverská Bítýška and back across the city center. Not sure what's so special there, maybe just training. Although if training, why do the fly over the city centre? What if they crash?

@oleksandr @ljs @lkundrak in case of engine failure in a helicopter, you actually have some time to react, you start losing power and altitude as in an airplane, but not suddenly

@oleksandr @ljs @lkundrak i mean it's not like medical and police helicopters don't fly over the city all the time

@oleksandr @lkundrak @ljs i would hope an instructor is not going to let student cause an irrecoverable error during a flight lol

@lkundrak @ljs @pony Stupid AI assumes Brno Orloj to be of an ancient architecture. Do people seriously delegate problem solving to this shit?

@oleksandr @lkundrak @pony people ignore the copious evidence that it's worse than useless crap because sometimes it seems magical and that's apparently enough...

@oleksandr @ljs @pony people were erecting this sort of symbol since the ancient times

@ljs @pony @lkundrak Yet, only the one in Brno is preserved in such a good condition. Ancient Brňaks should be proud of themselves.

@pony @lkundrak @ljs @djasa This video explains how random phallus ended up in the city centre perfectly. Also, the loop.

@oleksandr

FWIW it the loops look like a close up view of the ČRA's (?) antennae on a house in the Barvičova street

@oleksandr

For me, it isn't but it's roughly in the center of the loop 🙂

@djasa @pony @oleksandr @lkundrak @ljs IIRC helicopters have worse glide ratio than airplanes, but don't require that much place to stop once they land.

@pavel @djasa @lkundrak @oleksandr @pony parachutes need even less

@ljs @oleksandr @pony @djasa @lkundrak @pavel Then again, how far can you fly on a parachute?

@ptesarik @oleksandr @pony @djasa @lkundrak @pavel you can fly very far, it is just generally down

@ptesarik @djasa @lkundrak @oleksandr @pavel @pony btw this is an analogy to (cc?) @vbabka 's approach to slab code

@ljs @oleksandr @pony @djasa @lkundrak @pavel @vbabka This would be a good master's thesis: How long would it take to bring the Linux kernel down to nothing if all established processes are followed (e.g. for deprecation and removal of existing features).

@ptesarik @ljs @oleksandr @pony @djasa @lkundrak Some parachutes are called paraglides ... and they do glide :-). Some may be even quite competitive, they definitely can climb in thermals.
