I prefer selecting between profiles (like server and desktop) over creating my own configurations. I guess this pretty much whether you are Arch or Fedora user ;-) Also out-of-the-box secure boot and SELinux are things that I do appreciate for the machines where I actually get work that pays my bills.

I've been quite happy with Fedora because I've had pretty much same experience as with Ubuntu versions 14.04-18.04: after initial struggles I don't really proactively think about the operating system anymore.

I've tried post-Ubuntu also Arch, Debian and OpenSUSE but Fedora has kind of stuck now about a full year, so I guess it is my "new Ubuntu" ;-) It also worked out of the box with my new 9950X/RTX4090 box, which was nice (only required dnf install akmod as additional step).

Just so that you know: https://doc.rust-lang.org/cargo/commands/cargo-generate-lockfile.html

I.e. pretty common use is to resolve merge conflict. Lessons learned for today ;-)

Im a sucker for architecture and to this day this is still one of the nicest looking hotel buildings that Ive seen anywhere in the world. Not the fanciest but there is something truly nice in its simple design. Located about 500m from my home.

@mattdm That said, I would not think too much canceling a credit card even if only small sum of money in gone, and not being heavy on installing random apps. Being a bit over the top on minimizing the collateral damage is usually a good strategy IMHO. Week or two and she will have fresh new ones... You can survive that time period with cash. And factory reset for phone just in case...

@mattdm Yeah dunno the situation in detail obviously so definitely maybe. Maybe those were acquired through a data breach. Personally I use services like https://badrap.io/ to be in phase of data breaches and act accordingly if there is any reason to do so.

@mattdm PayPal does sound bad or like actual phone malware. I'd just cancel all of the credit cards before anything worse happens. Small amounts could be just probing round. Yeah, and factory reset or even switch the phone entirely.

I had multiple tends thousand of dollars of payments taken away from my corporate AMEX one time that I did not notice on time because obviously I used that during only business travel. It was luckily reimbursed by AMEX when I reported the incident.

In my case it was skimmed in Prague when there was some Linux conference.

@timojyrinki What do you mean by Linux executable?

Anyway, my guess it might be related to using driver to report the GPU model, and driver is obviously linked to Microsoft CA. Just a guess.

The game itself would be from Steam but they detect the applicable NVIDIA card through Winblows crap.

@liw @nosfe Jos tätä kaverisysteemiä ei olisi niin Helsingin pörssin kärki kellottaisi varmaan ihan eri lukemia. Samat Suomalaisen klubin ukot istuu ristiin hallituksissa ja johtajina.

This is useful to have with BuildRoot in .zprofile:

# Buildroot
export BR2_DL_DIR="$HOME/.cache/buildroot/dl"

I.e. build a global cache of source packages and external toolchains. Allows to work offline most of the time.

#buildroot

Interesting. GCC dropped LP64E support: https://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=116152

And rustc added the same support: https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/pull/132354

So my guess is that embedded RISC-V happens a lot with Rust and since GCC-Rust is not widely used so far it has been silent on GCC side.

So maybe this was uneducated decision from GCC? I don't know. Feels weird.

This will definitely block us from using GCC as our smart contracts are based on ILP32E/LP64E.

@Jesse i played phoenix point for some time to get over xcom withdrawal symptoms but it just not have the magic. And festering skies is a problem DLC because it adds some things that i like and some that ruin the game so ended up to a situation where i cannot play it anymore because any configuration leaves me dissatisfied. Something more strategy than xcom 2 but less strategy than phoenix point would be great.
