I know it sounds really weird and you'll think I'm awful but I'm having massive issues mentally with having lost so much weight in a relatively short period of time (30kg in 6mo)... it's like my mind hasn't caught up.

Really strange...

Can people who've never done any kernel development please shut up about "API error handling in the kernel" when it comes to memory corruption?! Geez that's one of the dumbest takes I've seen.

Switzerland now requires all government software to be open source https://www.zdnet.com/article/switzerland-now-requires-all-government-software-to-be-open-source/ by @sjvn

Switzerland is one of the world's leading countries; now, if only the United States could follow its lead!

Given I work full time from home I wonder if I should just fuck off to Brno for a couple days (assuming I get permission etc.)

There's so many goobers falling for Microsoft's claim that EU regulations were responsible for the Crowdstrike crash. It's extremely obviously a political play to try and undermine EU's anti-trust case against them, but people are eating it up like they don't have two brain cells to rub together.

Sometimes I still sit here and think about how 4 years ago, scientists pulled off a fucking miracle of developing 3 brand new vaccines for a novel virus that had never had a vaccine for it before in like 6 months, scaled it out to produce billions of doses, and then like 40% of the country just said "nah".

Another incredible video about the cutting edge of dark matter experimentation from the criminally underrated Sam Gregson.

Check him out if you're in any way interested in physics and science in general, top quality content.

Thank god fedi has mute and unfollow, the incredibly patronising and religious sounding rhetoric of those who blinded themselves to Biden's total incapacity have learnt absolutely nothing and
are just doing more of the same.

Get real and stop acting like one of the two parties is the holy source of all wonder. Learn to be like Brits who hate all politicians even the ones we vote for...

Obviously I think Trump would be a disaster but that doesn't mean I think the democrats are wonderful, they're just the less awful choice.

A party who have manged to put forward two of the most unlikeable presidential candidates in recent history for what were obviously internal party entitlement reasons.

Two big tells for whether a govt ACTUALLY cares about climate change - how much do they fund public transport, and how much do they support work from home?

If the answer is fuck all and fuck all then they don't care no matter how many pointless unworkable Musk-inspired EV car targets they set.
